it was 2006 when, after a period of years, band founding mambers Kie and Tim were to be blessed with a chance to write and perform our brand of music.
I (Tim) received a phone call from the Ether, on the other end of the line was Kie. He had been stomping the Metal world with the band The Voice, it seemed they had gone as far as they could go at that time. Kie said "I've been trying some riffs out, you gotta hear this!" Immediately I went round to Kie's studio, and what I heard flowed through my very essence, it was spiritual, and brutal at the same time! It was the track 'Spirits of the Earth'. There was Magik in them there riffs, and the synths just added a crazy trans-dimensional edge. I decalred, with no forethought "I must play bass on this track." Being a guitarist before; the switch was initially a bit tentative. But We believed so wholeheartedly in the Spirits that the bass just seemed a natural way. So the Spirits were born, and pretty soon after we contaced Ciaran (who drums like Taranis - The Celtic God of Thunder) and asked him to add some Dublin fire to the mix. He joined, and we recorded the 'Spirits of the Earth' E. P. and as if by magic we attracted interest and ended up playing our first ever live show at the Eastern Haze Festival in 2007. Time was taken to record the second mini-album "Not Coming Back". This recording was more progressive, and more crazy, and we recruited Junior Spirit to take over the spiral synths. Tim had been doing them previously, but obviously we needed those sounds live. Jnr Spirit has established the role as his own since in great style. We took on board more complex song writing, and arrangements. There is elements of Rock / Metal, Punk, Techno, Dub within this recording. All elelments we had all experienced through our musical lives. As a result of this, we took a punt and sent 'Not Coming Back' to Hawkfest, and yet again, more magic! We were confirmed to play Hawkfest 2008, and what an honour it was. 2009 dawned, and we were invited by the excellent MyChooz to play at Cosmic Puffin 2, and once again we played at the 'Puffin (3) with Vern (ex Gurus of the New Millenium) on drums, earlier this year alongside the amazing likes of Flutatious, Nukli, Dr Hasbeen, Paradise 9, to name a few. So since Cosmic Puffin we have been recording for our first album length recording. It is sounding monumental, and a single will be avialable soon...
